Here's The Autopian's guess at how the size compares between the Maverick and the EV pickup.

Here’s Our Best Guess At How Much Smaller The $30K Ford EV Pickup Is Than The Maverick
https://www.theautopian.com/heres-o...ler-the-new-30k-ford-ev-is-than-the-maverick/

Here's their calculated guess at the dimensions:

Length: 192.4 inches (vs. Maverick's 199.8 - 200.9 inches)
Height: 64-65 inches (vs. Maverick's 67.7 - 69.4 inches)

Anyone who wants a small nimble runaround pickup is in for a treat. Hopefully also means it gets good range.

Interesting, I'm not quite sure I trust the numbers, but if so, that's decidedly shorter than the Slate Truck, which is my only point of comparison size-wise, since I sat in one at one of their live events.

Length wise that looks fine, but the height does seem surprisingly short, though not in a bad way at all. The more I see/read about this pickup, the more excited I get.

It sure seems like Ford, as vague as they have been about the specifics, has intentionally and consistently implied the EV truck was NOT as small or smaller than the Maverick. And they have been asked size questions over and over by the press, yet responded with "mid-size" vs "compact".

Having said all that, visually, I admit that it is far more Maverick than Ranger. So I don't understand why the effort to deflect away from compact

Probably for the same reason Subaru calls the BZ Woodland an SUV instead of a wagon, despite it being called an e-Outback in the global market. Sometimes marketing sells more than reality. If they can focus the attention on the cab size, comparing it to a RAV4, and calling it midsize, then some people may be willing to buy vs if it was called a "compact"

195" with a usable bed would be amazing. I hope it still fits 4'-wide panels in the rear though, otherwise we're going to have a lot of people carrying things tilted. The Maverick got the bed size right.

The Flexbed is awesome. Using the divider slots it means you get separated cargo areas and support for wide sheets. And the distance from the rear divider to the tailgate is perfect for smaller loads like groceries or luggage. The distance between the front divider to the rear divider turns out to fit two 6' folding tables (folded) perfectly.

To me, mid size is something larger than a Maverick.
Are we being deceived?
Not that Ford would do such a thing.

That goes to show that size is in the eye of the beholder :). I see my Maverick as mid-sized, but that's because my last trucks were single-cab Rangers that were almost a foot shorter.

I see the Slate as a true compact truck, at 174. I see the Telo as a subcompact truck at 152". And I could see Ford wiping out Slate just by selling another tophat on the UEV platform. Take the length down to 184" inches or less. Make it an extended cab two-door. 184" is the standard size for a compact SUV. The Bronco Sport is 174".

The joy of this platform for me is Ford's statement (paraphrased) that "we can go smaller or we can go bigger, and we can deliver it in infinite form factors". My vote is small but tall. Give me an electric Bronco Sport and I might even forget about trucks.

As long as I'm rambling... The Rivian R3X had the web in an "I want it" feeding frenzy. So Ford should do an R3X too. Let's get Ford back into cars.

The R3/R3X is the car I would buy today if I could. I adore its size, styling, etc.

That said, I can't wait to see what Ford does with the UEV platform. I hope they don't knee cap it early...

They said the EV truck will be bigger than a Maverick, but smaller than a Ranger.

The photos are making it hard to believe that its a true "midsize". I am wondering if Ford is getting creative with cabin space / frunk ect to have it be equivalent to a midsize vehicle while keeping the compact footprint. Looking forward to learning more as additional info comes out 👍

Maverick-sized would be perfect to me. The Ranger is a bit too big; my current truck is an '05 Silverado and the new Rangers look almost the same size.

They keep stating that the UEV pickup has more interior volume than a RAV4, which would be great; I just hope they're not doing some tomfoolery getting to that number that doesn't translate to actual day-to-day use
