Would 100 miles of LFP co$t $15K today?
I don't think similar equipped trucks (trim/packages) would have that large of a price spread.
Now if Ford forces you to go upscale to get an additional 100 miles? All bets are off.
Having said that, for me personally, if the Ranchero was as nicely...
I have both a Sync4 F150 and a Google OS GMC Sierra Denali EV.
I'm also a diehard Android phone user.
You would think that I would rate the native Google OS far above Sync4, but I don't. Admittedly there are some really nice things about it, for an Android familiar customer, but Sync4 has...
I'm pretty sure that Ford is moving away from Sync4 and this is one of the initial flavors of whatever the new platform is going to be.
So even the Maverick is soon destined for the new platform?
Nothing wrong with having a 200 mile range for a new vehicle, when the intent is to offer an entry price point that otherwise doesn't exist.
But I agree that an option for a longer range needs to be available as well.
"extended range battery" is a well established option in the EV world.
Full transition? 🤔
While I have great disdain for the fact that GM located the charging port at the rear of my Sierra Denali EV tow truck, I don't think I would be nearly as miffed with the same on this little Ranchero. For obvious reasons.
Still I do wish it was positioned similar to the...
These days, there is so much variety at Tesla superchargers that I think the average Tesla driver has been conditioned to no longer get rattled about new comers
Since Mark knew exactly where these pics are........ 🤣
He has a wicked Mach-E (it's well documented) and he MIGHT be out scrubbing its tires at some point in the near future? 😁
If you love the tech and the pampering, and your dealership gives you a couple of grand off MSRP, instead of tacking more on, the Lariat is an absolutely wonderful way to enjoy the latest Maverick.
AWD Hybrid
4K towing
Excellent Lane Centering/Adaptive Cruise
Pretty decent night lighting too...
I hope to see one of these parked right beside my daughter's Maverick AWD Hybrid Lariat.
I think they would make the perfect tandem for her household. (The Ranchero would take the place of their 2016 F150 that has been rock solid for 11 years. And will hopefully be retired to Big Truck use solely)
Mid-gate has been around for a long time. The GM Avalanche grew a cult following because of the mid-gate and you can find them in the hands of folks determined to keep them running for that very reason. I think the last one built was more than 13 years ago.
I hope you are right. At least as an option.
I impulse purchased a GMC Sierra Denali EV. I didn't immediately consider the mid-gate as a meaningful feature for me personally.
Now it is something I leverage for so many circumstances. Even beach camping with a small RV, the truck is another bed...
Former Nissan Leaf and Mach-E GTPE owner. Currently in one of the the King of KWH GMC Denali trucks.
Rooting for Ford's new platform to give the legacy manufacturer a legitimate shot at competing, and surviving, in the brave new automotive world.
I'm more and more convinced that's going to be true. And I'm not saying it's a bad or good thing, but rather the result of the discipline of the engineering goals.
The old school truck in my blood, would prefer the traditional look of the Maverick. My daughter drives one and I have to admit the...
It appears I could be very mistaken.
Sandy made an appearance with the Munro crew at the recent Slate unveiling. Had plenty to say, as well as taking off his boots and climbing up on the rear wheel to see if he could enter the second row seats without opening the door. :)
I don't expect it's range to be better than an extended range Lightning. Of course, at $30K, even matching the Lightning's 330 miles would be absolutely impressive.
As for the Maverick, if this new EV truck can match the comfort, utility, and luxury of my daughter's 2025 Lariat Hybrid AWD, then...
Agreed. If the standard is going to be NACS and Tesla superchargers, then front right would be ideal for towing.
Of course pull-through would be the slam dunk.
