I think it's not a huge issue. There's no standard on location for gas fill ports either, and it works out, even for oddballs like Caddy's with the fill port under the rear license plate or tail light.

It's inconvenient for Tesla's, but no real difference (in my opinion) to people who pull in the "wrong way" to a gas station.

I quite liked the location on the Lightning

A rendering based on a sketch I did. I've been told this is kinda close, if this was the wild concept car version, image a toned down production version and you're pretty much there.

That's very eye appealing. At least if tough truck is appealing.
But I'm expecting way lower drag coefficient than that frontal area would bring.

I‘m expecting a much lower/sloped nose (for aerodynamics) and vertically curved sides without the fender bulges, again for aerodynamics. Also a higher side bed height and rear sloped roof line. And those wheels look like drag magnets for sure.

The key message from Ford has been it’s all about aero whereas the image above looks too much like a “conventional“ pickup. It will be interesting to see how much influence the Ford “family” stylists had compared to the clean sheet F1 specialists.

My feeling about charger ports, and this is me being selfish, is that most charging is done at home. And most people pull into their garages. So charging ports should be somewhere up front.

Actually, as long as I'm being selfish. I don't want a charging port at all. I want an inductive charging pad on the floor.

The windshield is racked back like the current Toyota Prius, extreme angle.
Side glass/belt line in reality is probably 2 1/2 inches lower than depicted.
I hope the bed length is at least matches or longer than the Maverick.
We need more information from Ford.
