  1. EV Pickup Ranchero vs. Maverick size based on photos (length / height dimensions)

I dig it. The more I think about it, the more I see this UEV pickup as an Australian 'ute. Which is badass.
  2. SLATE Truck Revealed as Modular SUV & Pickup - News & Info

With this price leak, I find myself wondering what price would make the Slate Truck work for me. I'm not going to be in the market for a new truck until sometime next year, at which point we'll have more information about the UEV pickup/Ranchero. Before the UEV pickup was announced, I was 100%...
  3. EV Pickup Ranchero vs. Maverick size based on photos (length / height dimensions)

Maverick-sized would be perfect to me. The Ranger is a bit too big; my current truck is an '05 Silverado and the new Rangers look almost the same size. They keep stating that the UEV pickup has more interior volume than a RAV4, which would be great; I just hope they're not doing some tomfoolery...
  4. EV Pickup Ranchero vs. Maverick size based on photos (length / height dimensions)

The R3/R3X is the car I would buy today if I could. I adore its size, styling, etc. That said, I can't wait to see what Ford does with the UEV platform. I hope they don't knee cap it early...
  5. New videos revealed shows wheels, assembly, snow track testing, less camo

I've been trying to eyeball where the charge port is from the camo/spy photos, and I can't see where it is. Neither the driver side rear or passenger side rear appear to have it, unless they covered it with the wrap. I suppose it could be under the black cover over the hood, on the front quarter...
  6. SLATE Truck Revealed as Modular SUV & Pickup - News & Info

I was quite early to reserve the Slate, but over time, I've come to think it's a bit too basic. I really like the styling, the regular cab is great for me, and the 5' bed is a great size. But no power windows, no basic stereo, etc, is just too stripped down for me. I know the beauty of the Slate...
  7. New videos revealed shows wheels, assembly, snow track testing, less camo

It does look like these concept art photos show a shorter nose, and at least in the top right image, a sloped back of cab. I'm really excited about the prospect of this pickup. I love that so far, it looks more like an Australian 'ute to me, which I LOVE.
  8. What features do you hope the Ranchero EV might have?

There have been rumblings (probably complete BS) that the UEV pickup will have the same infotainment system across the board, akin to Tesla Model 3s & Ys, which have the same basic packaging, and that the difference in trims is more focused on battery size & performance/motor count. I would...
  9. What features do you hope the Ranchero EV might have?

I reaaaally want a good Pro Power option. If there was a 240V PPO package, I'd get it for sure. It's not something I expect to need/use often, but it's a really handy piece of kit
  10. New videos revealed shows wheels, assembly, snow track testing, less camo

Love it! Thanks for the heads up. Can't wait to see more! I think the back of the cab will be fairly sloped. You can sort of see it in the winter testing video
  11. First Sight!! $30k midsize EV pickup Ranchero prototype spied 📸

I think it's not a huge issue. There's no standard on location for gas fill ports either, and it works out, even for oddballs like Caddy's with the fill port under the rear license plate or tail light. It's inconvenient for Tesla's, but no real difference (in my opinion) to people who pull in...
  12. EV Pickup Ranchero vs. Maverick size based on photos (length / height dimensions)

Probably for the same reason Subaru calls the BZ Woodland an SUV instead of a wagon, despite it being called an e-Outback in the global market. Sometimes marketing sells more than reality. If they can focus the attention on the cab size, comparing it to a RAV4, and calling it midsize, then some...
  13. First Sight!! $30k midsize EV pickup Ranchero prototype spied 📸

It looks like they added some foam to the rear window as well, potentially to cover up a non-squared off rear window? As in, a sloped roof line at the back of the cab for aero?
  14. EV Pickup Ranchero vs. Maverick size based on photos (length / height dimensions)

Interesting, I'm not quite sure I trust the numbers, but if so, that's decidedly shorter than the Slate Truck, which is my only point of comparison size-wise, since I sat in one at one of their live events. Length wise that looks fine, but the height does seem surprisingly short, though not in...
  15. Rumor: January announcement (release event + build & price)

I hope we hear something relatively soon. I have $50 down on a Slate Truck, but if this guy comes out at the rumored price, I’ll be going with this truck. Speaking of, I recognize your handle from the SlateForums! I know there’s a lot of bad blood over there for this UEV pickup, but I’m not...
  16. First Sight!! $30k midsize EV pickup Ranchero prototype spied 📸

That’s an interesting note about the door handles, since this prototype seems to have regular mechanical ones. I’d really prefer it to have the style shown in these pics
  17. First Sight!! $30k midsize EV pickup Ranchero prototype spied 📸

I think it's just painted, no bed liner applied. My Silverado looked the same before I put a bed liner in it. My guess is steel, though no way to tell, or to know if that's a production intent prototype or not. I remember seeing the Slate Truck in person and being told the one they had for demo...
  18. First Sight!! $30k midsize EV pickup Ranchero prototype spied 📸

For sure, no way they just happened to get a tip about the day, time, location etc. In the video too, the UEV pickup pauses for extended periods to let the guy record too
  19. First Sight!! $30k midsize EV pickup Ranchero prototype spied 📸

That side profile shot gives me major 'ute vibes. Can't wait to see it with the camo and foam removed
  20. First Sight!! $30k midsize EV pickup Ranchero prototype spied 📸

I really like what I see. I can't wait to swap from my '05 Silverado to this bad jackson when the time comes
