I would buy the XLT LUX package like in my Maverick. Things I'd love to have (and I'm willing to pay for them)...

  • 360 camera
  • (daydreaming) A shorter two-door, extended-cab variant under 180 inches long
  • built-in navigation
  • super high tech interface - all the bells and whistles - I want to talk to my car
  • AWD for my steep driveway
  • I want to be able to buy the next gen BlueCruise. I'm 70. I want my truck to do the driving on the interstate.
  • Cloth seats. Please. With sugar on top.
  • all the nice features I have on my XLT LUX. The bed lighting. The load management system. Heated seats and steering wheel. As many safety features as I can buy. The spray in bedliner or a composite bed.
  • Memory seats and controls. So my 5-foot tall wife will be willing to drive it. If I could transplant the super comfortable cloth seats from my Mav, I would in an eyeblink. I love those seats.
  • I want a simple drivers display. Not some crazy over-the-top insanity like some OEMs have done. "Just the facts, ma'am"
I get that Ford is making a $30,000 base trim. I want the $35,000 or $40,000 XLT or better trim.
Maybe we can get a discount on an order for two? Your list is my list as well as my expectations on price. My wife is also 5 foot, so the two seat setting for memory seats is a need if she decides to drive it. We have 2023 Honda crv touring for travel, and the memory seats with two diiferent settings keyed into the remote has been sweet. I’m six foot. I’m 73 and hold my vehicles for ten years and usually 150,000 miles. Looking for the technology to be current not ten years old. Also want a good warranty for total coverage and a loaner if the vehicle is incapacitated or extended in the shop due to parts. Ford has had a record year for recalls and the Maverick first year had a pretty long list of problems that needed to be corrected. Since the engineering is an extension of Tesla and Chinese technologies, I am hoping that there will be less quality issues than experieinced in past new models.

I want a feature that comes on automatically when I pass a Maverick hybrid. It will flash a large message saying "125 MPGE". Because I've been listening to that crowd crowing about their 45 MPG for the last 5 years.

I really want that feature.
As a maverick hybrid owner, respectfully, I will cry if I see this.

I hope to see one of these parked right beside my daughter's Maverick AWD Hybrid Lariat.

I think they would make the perfect tandem for her household. (The Ranchero would take the place of their 2016 F150 that has been rock solid for 11 years. And will hopefully be retired to Big Truck use solely)

Maverick hybrid owners love their rides, and with good reason. Once the very early bugs were worked out and AWD was offered, a Mav hybrid is a killer ride. I'm jealous of your resale - my Ecoboost is depreciating way faster than your hybrid.

The other depreciation lesson I learned was to pay for the 4K option. That's another thing I skimped on and will regret at trade time.

Nice, yeah I got one of the first 2022 hybrids in my area. It's a had a few quirks, it did this shudder a few times that freaked me out there went away post software recall years ago and hasn't returned. I had to replace the 12v battery after about 3 years just before the 3 yr BtB warranty expired due to deep sleep issues. But my dealer swapped in an AGM battery free of charge and it's been fine since. Beyond that, just a few software recalls.

I'll probably have to replace the CV axle boots at some point, but there's a program where Ford will swap in upgraded CV axles on any 2022 free of charge regardless of age or mileage as a one time thing, so that's nice.

Overall, that sounds like a lot, but if having to replace minor suspension components and a battery are the biggest issues I have to deal with, I'll be fine with that. Hopefully the hybrid system itself holds up well.

But yeah, the core components of the mav hybrid, even early builds, seem pretty durable. The fuel economy is great, and the resale value is awesome.

I have an XLT which I personally believe is the best of the trims both to own, and for resale value. It has that Goldilocks factor of being nicer than the base, but not as expensive as the lariat which is where the business case for the maverick weakens imo. Great truck at 25, 28 grand, at 40? Not so much.
