Thanks for the post! It's fun to see it begin popping up. I remember how fun it was to see the Slate at random Tesla Supercharger locations across the country etc and seeing pics pop up on the Slate forums.

I have to think that the padding over the hood and the rear window are to disguise its shape. It's the only thing that makes sense to me, otherwise it would just be more of the vinyl wrap

I'm most fascinated by the beltline. I'm hoping it's lower than what we see, but I'm making no predictions.
I think it looks pretty sleek. The beltline is definitely higher than I would have assumed, but I think it makes the side profile look pretty good

This thing is going to look like one of the Utes from down under. But it will have four doors.

I'm more and more convinced that's going to be true. And I'm not saying it's a bad or good thing, but rather the result of the discipline of the engineering goals.
The old school truck in my blood, would prefer the traditional look of the Maverick. My daughter drives one and I have to admit the darn thing is a handsome little truck. But the quest for ultimate efficiency is going to force some smoothing and tapering of that traditional block? :)
