Recap of the previous announcements and new information is in this video.
Universal EV Battery Size & Styling

BATTERY SIZE:

The CGI video shows 6 Rows of 16 Battery Cells across = 96 Cells
Possibly there is a 7th Row that gets cut off in the video = 112 Cells

Cell Assumption:

Tesla currently uses CATL's '6M' LFP Cell in the Model 3.
108 Cells
x 180 Ah
x 3.2 Volts
-------------
62.5 kWh

Ford is licensing an LFP Cell from CATL.
The general size of a 180 Ah CATL LFP Cell "appears" to be about the right size from the Ford video.

Applying the same CATL specs to what we see in the video from Ford.
96 Cells
x 180 Ah
x 3.2 Volts

-------------
55.3 kWh ( 64.5 kWh if there is a 7th Row of Cells not shown in the video)

CONCLUSION:

If this Pickup has a 55-65 kWh Battery some people will blast it as being too small without ever having driven it.

Ford wants to focus on Efficiency, Affordability, and maybe we will get specs on Charging in the next update.
Jim Farley has said over, and over that we need to embrace smaller, more efficient EVs.
Marketing in America keeps telling us we need 300+ Miles or Range and a 100+ kWh Battery.

YOUR THOUGHTS? 🤔

Of course, if each cell has MORE than 180Ah each then the math is wrong and the battery is bigger.

51 kWh? And we expect this vehicle to average, what, 3.5 to 4.0 mi/kWh? Is so, this is going to be pitiful. I won't buy it unless it average 250 miles of range or better.

Very interesting! Deep dives like this are very fun. 51kWh usable on a 55kWh pack seems feasible. I'm curious if this is the smaller of the two batteries that have been alluded to.

Has there been confirmation of multiple battery capacities? Or just speculation?

Either way, ~200 miles (assuming 4 mi/kWh) would be pretty good for me. I was very happy with the bump to 205 for the Slate Truck

It isn't going to be an exciting product if it doesn't offer an extended range battery with ~300 miles per charge. These automakers have to realize they can't go backwards in terms of range and expect robust sales, even if they are trying to make the overall vehicle cheaper.
